Damir Tasmagambetov comes from the multicultural city Almaty, Kazakhstan, located in the heart of Central Asia. Since taking his first dance steps at age of six, he has continued his trajectory across the world, taking part in different companies and training in prestigious dance academies like world famous College of Fine Arts, Kalakshetra Foundation,India and also including the Kazakh National Pedagogical University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where he strove to perfect his interpretations of Kazakh and Central Asian character dances & ballet. His passion for dance led him to train in the fascinating and exotic style of Indian classical dance, known as Bharatanatyam. Bharatanatym he feels with its satellites and complexities forms the perfect vehicle for his inner exploration, which leads to his vibrant stage performances. Sensitive and nuance performer, Damir completed his Diploma in Bharatanatyam from world famous College of Fine Arts Kalakshetr Foundation, Chennai India, where he had the opportunity to learn under some of the greatest Gurus of our time. Damir had an opportunity to perform at the prestigious stages of leading festivals of India and abroad. He has been continuously working on the development of spiritual values among the people in the world trough elite classical art, strengthening of cultural ties and friendship between Kazakhstan and India and the promotion of Indian art and culture in Kazakhstan and now in the U.S.

Kumarasambhavam is widely regarded as one of Kalidasa’s finest works. This keertanam is an extract from kumarasambavams 7th Sarga, which describes Lord Shivas preparation for marriage.
